Brazil nut in Benedito Mutran's life.

Brazil nut tree sprouted from the Amazonian soil by the action of nature.
However, in Benedito Mutran's life, it was cultivated and watered with the sweat from many years of dedication and work.
He was one of the great pioneers in the product commercialization.
     First, as a producer.
Then, as a producer and exporter.
His work made him to be recognized with honors, such as the honorific title of "Citizen of Pará State", granted by Pará State Legislature, for the services rendered to the State, and the 1987 "Year's Businessman", granted by the Commercial Association of Pará.
Benedito Mutran passed away in 1991, when he was 76 years old, but he remains alive in the memory of everybody who has lived together with him and in the fruits of the work he has accomplished.

1966: Incorporation of Benedito Mutran & Cia. Ltda.

In the work with Brazil nuts, Benedito Mutran was just one, but he became three.
He, his son, Benedito Mutran Filho - Bené Mutran for his friends - and the company both have created on April 12, 1966 - Benedito Mutran & Cia. Ltda.
Until then, Benedito, the father, used to sell all his production to the exporters.
With the company, a new cycle began, and he and his son, then only 24, started to process and export the product.
When the company started-up, one of the greatest works of Bené Mutran was prospecting new markets in the importing countries. For this purpose, he traveled to the United States and Europe to get in contact with the great importers and take the company name to the foreign market, a goal already accomplished within the country.
The conquest of these customers - many of them still in the company portfolio - required hard work and demonstration of the seriousness to fulfill commitments.
Nowadays, with a solid name within the market and the highly recognized quality of its products, the company exports hundreds of tons of shelled and unshelled nuts, as well as black pepper, to the United States, Germany, Spain, France, England, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Japan, China, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and some Arab countries, such as Jordan, and African, such as Tunisia, South Africa, among others.
In 1986, the company conquered the "Exports Award", granted by the Pará section of the Brazilian Association of Sales Managers/ADVB.

The black pepper in the kingdom of Brazil nuts

Within this universe exclusively devoted to the Brazil nuts, there was still room for a new product: black pepper.
Activities with the new product began in 1999, favored by the second processing factory which had enough place to settle the complete machinery to dry and process black pepper.
Another factor propitiating Benedito Mutran entry to this new industry was the fact that some of its most traditional suppliers of Brazil nuts were also working with black pepper.
The strategy was perfect, abolishing the idle space in the factory, which then started operating during the whole year, as the end of the dehydrated unshelled Brazil nuts processing - July/August - is the beginning period of black pepper processing.
Nowadays, the company is internationally preferred by the market, attracting traditional black pepper customers and also some Brazil nut customers who purchase black pepper too.
